Thornicroft Lodge, an amazing new lodge in the heart of Africa's finest unspoiled wildlife area opened in July 2009, offering very comfortable 2 person chalets with excellent bedding, walk-in mosquito nets, private toilet, shower, electricity, a beautiful view on Luangwa River, cuisine food and of course unforgettable game drives in the stunning South Luangwa national park. Thornicroft Lodge is situated on the bank of the Luangwa River, facing the South Luangwa National Park. We have 10 luxurious chalets, all en suite for 2 people, a lounge area, dining area, a bar and a true Zambian swimming pool. At Thornicroft Lodge we offer you game drives within the national park, which are led by well trained and experienced guides. Wildlife is closer than you could ever imagine: Hippos and crocodiles can always be seen in and along the river and in the late afternoon you might see elephants come to the river to drink and bath or even cross the river, looking for fresh lush green plants and trees in or around the village. This is the real Africa! Many television documentaries have been recorded in this breathtaking reserve for its beauty and abundance of wildlife.
Thornicroft
Lodge, being
a new
lodge, aims to offer you
outstanding, though affordable accommodation, good food and last but not
least an unforgettable wildlife experience. We adapt to suit clients
needs, from morning drives, afternoon drives, night drives, walking
safaris and safaris by boat (seasonal), to drives that include a
sumptuous bush breakfast in the park and drives into the more remote
areas of the park, which take you out the whole day and include picnic
lunches. Thornicroft
Lodge
has the
finest safari guides available and we firmly believe that a guide
enhances ones experience to make it so much more enjoyable.
Business Trips:
Thornicroft caters for business people and is
able to host business events, management meetings, workshops and
incentive trips. Why not have an amazing game drive then meet for
refreshments on the bank of the Luangwa river, followed by your business
meeting in the bush, lunch and continue the afternoon with a walking
safari where you will be collected by the boat [or vehicle] to return to
the lodge for a short rest and shower. Meet at the bar and wind down
over a superb dinner and finish up by having closing comments around the
fire enjoying a night cap. It is possible, unique and special.
