Thornicroft Lodge is situated on the bank of the Luangwa River, not more than 5 minutes drive from the main gate of South Luangwa National Park. We have 10 "tent look" chalets, all en suite for 2-3 people. A dining area and a bar. At Thornicroft Lodge we offer you game drives within the national park, which are led by experienced guides. Excursions to the handicraft factory and the neighbouring village can be arranged on request.

Some of our targets at Thornicroft are:
- Offering high quality accomodation and a high service level to our customers
- Responsibility for flora, fauna and the environment (offering education)
- Community Projects: After Thornicroft is operational the lodge helps building additional classes for the local school and will assist the local clinic.
- The children who visit the school will be invited to join a game-viewing safari to explain the importance of wildlife and benefits of International tourism to the local communities.

Wildlife is closer than you could ever imagine: Hippo's and crocs can always be seen in and along the river and in the late afternoon elephants come to the river to drink and bathe or even cross it, looking for food in the vilage. This is the real Africa! Many television documentaries have been recorded in this breathtaking wildlife reserve. Have a look at the pictures for an impression or come and see for yourselves.
